Happy New Year

We just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! We'll have lots of photos and stories coming soon, but right now we're relaxing at the beach.

Two fun quick little Sam tidbits: We recently realized he can count to ten and spell his name. Brilliant!

Happy New Year!

Favorite Christmas Moment

Here's my favorite Christmas moment. Sam gave me the biggest kiss right after Ash turned off the camera. Precious!

Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone is having a most wonderful Christmas morning. Sam has had such a big morning. Santa was very good to him! More pics and stories to come later. Enjoy these for now. Ho! Ho! Ho!

Pack-n-Play

So I set up the pack-n-play over two weeks ago when Mindy, Emma & Grant came to stay with us. It has since become Sam's favorite play area. He's spent more time in it these past two weeks than he ever did as a baby. Crazy kid!

New pics on Grandsboy of the Funeral Home Christmas Dinner, the Christmas Parade, and not one but two meetings with Santa! Enjoy!

Sam's new favorite drink?

Coffee. Yes, he's decided he likes to drink coffee with me. I'll give him a cup (of water) with no lid and he pretends it's his coffee. He'll blow on it because it's hot and he'll stir it with a spoon. Got to love the imagination!

Dirty Dirty Boy

So after Mindy and the kids left Saturday afternoon, I attempted to put Sam down for a nap. He refused, but I knew he had to be tired. I decided to let him stay in his bed for a while despite his protests, hoping he would fall asleep. As I was doing some work on the computer, I heard him repeatedly say "shoo, shoo." I figured that meant he had a dirty diaper, so I took a few minutes to finish my work before going in to change him.

Let me just say that the stench upon entering his room was overwhelming. Great, I thought. This will be a fun diaper to change all by myself. Wow. What a mistake I made! He was dirty alright, but I was so very wrong about the diaper. Yeah, there was no diaper. He had taken it off by himself, flung it across the room, and then proceeded to POOP in his bed. Yes, that's right. This adorable little gremlin pooped in his bed and smeared it everywhere! My mother was in tears laughing as I was telling her what he did. Ash didn't even know what to say. I'm pretty sure this kid will be the death of me.

First Sleepover

Sam had his first sleepover this past weekend when our friends Mindy, Emma and Grant came to spend the night with us. Emma will be four in January and Grant is 9 months old. Sam had a great time playing with both of them. We were so glad to see all of them and look forward to playing with them again soon!

Happy Birthday Daddy

Sam has a new favorite song - Happy Birthday. He got rather excited when singing to Ash the other night, as you'll see.

Please note: The living room doesn't normally look this bad. Sam is rarely allowed in there, so he took full advantage of the opportunity. Plus, I'm getting out all the Christmas stuff so it's in full chaos. Oh and sorry about the really bad filming about mid-way through. The kid is hard to keep up with!

Sam is determined to figure out how to dress himself. On the other hand, he refuses to wear clothes in the house - as you'll quickly figure out from upcoming photos and videos.

A Few Minutes of Peace

Baking with Sam

Sam helped me bake some banana bread last week. He loved it! And yes, he is still wearing Halloween pajamas at the end of November. Whatever ...

We're Back

We're back from the beach and ready to take on the holidays! We had a good trip although Sam was quite the terror. Wow, I never knew he could be that clingy and whiny. It was amazing really how he perfected it throughout the week. But we got to do something really fun while we were down there - say goodbye to the backyard! That's right; it's gone! The guys started digging the pool Monday morning. It was incredibly exciting and we're looking forward to jumping in after Christmas. Lots more pics on grandsboy. Enjoy!

Happy Halloween

Sam had a huge Halloween. He got to dress up in his monkey costume for his party at school. Luckily he's too young to know embarrassment because he was basically the only one who dressed up. Oh well ...

And then we had a party here at NottaFarm. Ash dressed up as Handy Manny; I was Minnie Mouse; Granddaddy was a Scarecrow; Grand was a Witch; and Gracie was Sarah Palin (hilarious). Sam had a great time but was done by 7:30. I ignored his request for a pacifier at 7:00. I gave into his second request at 7:30 when he asked for a pacifier and to be put in bed. The kid was exhausted!

Thank you to everyone who came to our little Halloween gathering. We hope Poppa & Nana Beth get to feeling better! More pictures on grandsboy. Enjoy!

Story Time with Sam

Last night, Sam went missing for a few minutes so Ash went to check on him. He found Sam sitting by himself in our room "reading" a book. Precious! Maybe I've got a few genes in there after all!

Breakfast with Sam

Here's some morning fun the boys had together. You not only get to see the bib/cape live in action, but also hear Sam say his name repeatedly. He now does that whenever he sees the camera, because he always sees pictures and/or videos of himself on it. So much like his father ... Enjoy!

Family Fun Day

Ash took the day off so we could take Sam to his doctor's appointment together. After it was over, we all changed clothes and headed outside for some fun. Check out all the pictures on grandsboy. Enjoy!

18 month checkup

Everything is great! Sam is exactly where he needs to be developmentally and hitting all his milestones. Our big boy weighs 29lbs, 12oz and is 32 3/4 inches tall.

Sam the Super Spook

As promised, here are some photos of Sam in his superhero cape. No idea why he has latched on to the bib worn as a cape. As far as I know, he's yet to even watch anything on tv that would spark this idea.

Here he is just waking up from his nap and instantly wanted the cape back on!

Best $25

Here's a picture of the best $25 I've ever spent at Target. Yes, the shoes. They may not look like much to you, but they kept this child entertained for almost an hour yesterday. It was beautiful! I'll have video of him and his new shoes later.

Sweep Sweep Sweep

Sam is quite an enthusiastic sweeper, so I brought him his very own broom this weekend. He was so excited. Here's some photos of him hard at work.

Young Friends

Here's some photos of Sam and his friend, Ben Brogden. Sam is almost 18-months-old, and Ben celebrated his first birthday two weeks ago. Ash and Ben's dad, Rhyn, are childhood friends, so it's fun to see the next generation of boys together. Lots more pictures on grandsboy.

Thank You Aunt Lori

Check out Sam's new Handy Manny sweatshirt, a special gift from Aunt Lori!

Fun Weekend in Columbia

We have returned from a great little family weekend in Columbia where we stayed with Poppa, Nana Beth and Aunt Selena. Sam had lots of fun in the park riding the mini steam trains and doing some major swinging with Poppa. Miss Jane invited us to a delicious fish fry at her house, where Sam played hard and entertained everyone around him - as you would expect. Lots more pics on grandsboy.
