New friends

Sam has discovered some new outdoor friends - cicadas! Yes, that's right. The massive, nasty, loud bugs that are EVERYWHERE at NottaFarm. He loves them. He loves to pick them up, wings flapping in his hand, and chase me around the yard as I'm yelling at him to drop it. The kid finds that quite hilarious! He even ate one of the cicada shells - ATE IT!!!! Crunched it up in that little mouth of his. OH. MY. GOD. It was nasty and just wrong. Therefore, Sam and I can no longer play outside when we're here by ourselves because I can't deal with his fascination with these insects. Please let him never discover worms!

Congratulations Aunt Selena

Congratulations to Aunt Selena, now a high school graduate! Sam had lots of fun at her graduation party two weeks ago. He made several new friends and had a great time playing with Poppa and Nana Beth.

Sidewalk Chalk Fun

Sam and I played outside one day last week with some new sidewalk chalk. Lots of fun! Sam added the blue and green scribbles in the middle picture. What talent!

How cute are my boys!

Now there are photos ...

on grandsboy from our trip to Florida. Sorry they didn't get uploaded last night, but the week's menu and grocery list had to come first. And yes, Sam's fingernail did fall off yesterday. Nasty. Nasty. Nasty.

Anyway, Sam had great fun in Florida. He discovered he LOVES watermelon, grilled fish, shrimp, corn on the cob and outdoor showers. Seriously, the kid had a ball in the outdoor shower. He is still a little freaked out by the beach. He liked sitting and playing, but he didn't want to walk in the sand at all. The water was too cold to play in, but he liked watching the water. His Grand taught him how to call the waves and tell them goodbye. She also taught him what a crab does and how to hula, hula, hula. You just have to see it to understand. Hilarious!

He did great traveling; he now introduces Ash and me to everyone he sees - "Mama", "Daddy" - over and over and over. Everyone in the Gadsden, Alabama Cracker Barrel knows exactly who we are.

Side note: Thank you to our wonderful babysitters - Grand, Granddaddy, Pop & Gracie - while Ash and I were in New Orleans. We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in the Big Easy and it was fabulous! It was our first trip away from Sam, and he had a great time with everyone, so thank you. I think it's time to plan another one!

We're home

We just got home from Florida, so you know what that means! More pics (soon-to-come) on grandsboy. It'll probably be later tonight before I get them uploaded.

Fun side note:
Within an hour of arriving home, we spilled an entire box of Corn Chex, sam fell and had a bloody chin, and his yucky fingernail has decided it is almost time to fall off. Ugh ... Seriously, I get nauseous looking at it. (In case you missed that story, I shut Sam's finger in our bedroom door several weeks ago. Not sure which one of us cried harder!)

Ok, pics to come later.
